Xbox Game Pass

Microsoft could be adding a family plan as a different membership level to its Xbox Game Pass, which can prevent getting kicked off of Xbox because a relative sign in from another room.

Not like Netflix, Spotify and numerous other subscription services, the Xbox Game Pass right now has no choice for sharing one account. This has been a dissatisfaction among Xbox players for a long time, especially for the people who share a household with others who love to play video games. Xbox Game Pass memberships are attached to specific Xbox profiles and devices, allowing players to sign-in from anywhere. While players can actually add second Xbox console to their Game Pass membership, the primary subscriber has to be signed in for the second individual to access the games. Families with many gamers often get around this by paying for multiple Game Pass memberships.

The family plan will allow up to five players on a single membership and could be available later this year. It is unclear what the pricing will be, and whether the family plan will be exclusive to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, or included in the other membership levels.

A family plan will probably give Microsoft an edge over Sony PlayStation, which this week announced a renewed set of subscription plans – none of which has a family plan – to rival the Xbox Game Pass.
